Farr Polychem FZCO is a SEBS compound manufacturer based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE. It produces 43 SEBS-based FARRPRENE thermoplastic elastomer grades, spanning 15 to 90 Shore A and 40 to 52 Shore D, for injection molding and extrusion, in unfilled translucent and filled natural variants. Compounding, colour matching and dispatch all happen at the same Dubai plant, and free samples and technical datasheets are available on request.
43 SEBS GRADES IN THE CURRENT RANGE
SEBS is styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene, a hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer. A SEBS compound is a ready-to-process thermoplastic elastomer made by melt-blending that base polymer with polypropylene, process oil and additives, so a moulder buys one consistent pellet instead of formulating in-house. Hydrogenation removes the reactive double bonds that plain SBS keeps, which is why SEBS compounds resist UV, heat and oxidation so much better.
FARRPRENE SEBS compounds are the basis of the whole catalogue, from gel-like 15 Shore A grades through to rigid Shore D profiles. For the chemistry in depth, see What is SEBS TPE? and the SBS vs SEBS comparison.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
43 of the 48 current FARRPRENE grades are SEBS-based compounds; the other 5 (IF658AS, IF701AS, IF750AS, IF800AS, IF901AS) are SBS-based grades for cost-sensitive indoor parts. Every SEBS grade is listed below with its published property values, grouped Shore A first, then Shore D.

Typical average values from a limited sample set; not a formal specification. Request the signed datasheet for current values.
Typical Shore bands by part type, drawn from the catalogue above. This is selection guidance, not a specification - confirm the grade against your own duty cycle, then trial a sample on your line.
| PART TYPE | TYPICAL BAND | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| Soft-touch grips and overmoulds | 45-70 Shore A | Compliant in the hand but firm enough to hold its moulded shape under repeated grip loads. |
| Seals, gaskets and weatherstrip | 45-65 Shore A | Compresses against the mating surface and recovers; extrusion grades hold the profile after the die. |
| Cushioning and damping pads | 15-35 Shore A | Very soft compounds absorb more energy per unit deflection. |
| Load-bearing flexible parts | 75-90 Shore A | Firm enough to carry load and resist permanent deformation while remaining flexible. |
| Rigid profiles and structural trim | 40-52 Shore D | Holds its shape as a rigid section while keeping impact resistance. |
Buying from the plant that compounds the material removes the layer between you and the formulation. Four practical differences:
Hardness, colour and melt flow are adjusted at the compounding line, not relayed through a trader.
A grade can be developed to your target hardness, substrate and process when the catalogue is not an exact fit.
Every lot is produced and dispatched from one plant in JAFZA, Dubai.
Grade selection advice comes from the team that makes the material.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
No. 43 of the 48 current grades are SEBS-based. The remaining 5 (IF658AS, IF701AS, IF750AS, IF800AS, IF901AS) are SBS-based compounds for cost-sensitive indoor parts where UV and heat exposure is limited. Each grade page states its base polymer.
SEBS polymer is the raw hydrogenated block copolymer. A SEBS compound is that polymer melt-blended with polypropylene, process oil, fillers and additives into a ready-to-process pellet. Buyers of a compound do not need in-house formulation; buyers of the raw polymer do.
Yes. Custom compounding covers target hardness, colour matching to a reference, and melt-flow tuning for your process. Send the part drawing or the grade you want to match through the contact form and the technical team will shortlist or develop a compound.
15 to 90 Shore A and 40 to 52 Shore D. The soft end suits cushioning and gel-like parts; the rigid Shore D end suits profiles and structural trim. The two scales are not interchangeable, so the range is always stated per scale.
SEBS-based compounds are formulated to bond to polyolefin substrates in two-shot and insert moulding. Bond strength depends on the substrate grade, tool temperature and interface geometry, so verify it on your own part before production.
Ask through the contact form or email [email protected] with the grade code and your application. Samples are free, and signed technical datasheets with current values are supplied on request.
