OVERVIEW
Farrprene IEU150A is an ultra-soft, gel-like compound for cushioning, vibration damping and anatomical soft-touch surfaces. Supplied as a translucent unfilled grade optimised for injection-moulding and extrusion, it pairs the soft-touch feel of rubber with the clean, fast processing of a thermoplastic - no curing, fully re-meltable scrap.
The grade delivers a tensile strength of 3 MPa, elongation at break of >800%, and a specific gravity of 0.880. Its high melt flow (MFI 20 g/10 min at 190°C/5 kg) fills thin-wall and complex injection geometries with short cycle times. Heat Stabilized.
This is a SEBS-based compound. SEBS is the hydrogenated form of SBS: removing the double bonds from the mid-block gives it substantially better resistance to UV, heat and oxidation, which is why it is the usual choice for parts that see sunlight, warm service or a long design life.
At 25 g/10 min (230°C/5 kg) it is a moderate-flow injection grade, better suited to thicker sections than to thin-wall or long-flow tooling. Its specific gravity of 0.880 is typical of an unfilled compound, which gives more parts per kilogram and the cleanest colour reproduction.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- Vibration damping and acoustic isolation
- Soft-touch grips and ergonomic cushioning
- Resistance and exercise bands
- Consumer products, soft-touch overmoulds and grips
- Construction profiles, gaskets and weatherstripping
PROCESSING
- Runs on standard injection-moulding equipment; pre-drying is generally not required for unfilled grades.
- Suited to profile, sheet and tube extrusion lines with conventional single-screw setups.
- Unfilled formulation for the cleanest surface finish and colourability.
- Heat-stabilised: the additive package is intended to limit degradation during processing and repeated re-melting of regrind.
- SEBS-based: the hydrogenated backbone gives better UV, thermal and oxidative stability than an SBS compound.
- Colour-matchable and re-processable - production scrap can be re-melted and reused.
