FARRPRENE grades in this sector are finished thermoplastic elastomer compounds used for elastic sealing profiles and gaskets - the extruded and moulded parts that create a seal mechanically. They are not adhesive base resins and are not supplied for hot-melt adhesive formulation. A TPE sealing profile compresses against a mating surface and recovers, which is a different sealing mechanism from a cured or bonded sealant.

Are FARRPRENE compounds used to make adhesives?
- No. FARRPRENE grades are finished TPE compounds for moulded and extruded sealing parts. They are not adhesive base resins and are not sold for hot-melt adhesive formulation. If you need a mechanical seal rather than a bonded one, these grades are the relevant product.
How does a TPE gasket seal compared with a cured sealant?
- A TPE gasket seals mechanically: it is compressed between two surfaces and its elastic recovery maintains contact pressure. A sealant bonds and cures in place. The TPE route allows the joint to be disassembled and the part to be replaced or recycled.
Are these grades chemically compatible with my sealant system?
- Compatibility is not characterised in the published catalogue and depends on the specific chemistry, temperature and contact time. It must be tested against your system. Contact us and we will supply samples for compatibility trials.
Can FARRPRENE grades be colour-matched?
- Yes. Unfilled (translucent) grades give the cleanest colour reproduction and are the usual base for a colour match to a customer reference. Filled (natural) grades can also be pigmented, with a slightly more muted result.
