OVERVIEW
Farrprene IF901AS is a firm, hard-wearing compound for structural flexible parts, seals and bushings. Supplied as a natural filled grade optimised for injection-moulding, it pairs the soft-touch feel of rubber with the clean, fast processing of a thermoplastic - no curing, fully re-meltable scrap.
The grade delivers a tensile strength of 5.5 MPa, elongation at break of >500%, and a specific gravity of 1.060. A balanced melt flow (MFI 3 g/10 min at 190°C/5 kg) suits a wide processing window. SBS Based · UV Stabilized · Heat Stabilized.
This is an SBS-based compound. SBS keeps the unsaturated double bonds in its butadiene mid-block, which hydrogenation removes when SBS is converted to SEBS. That makes SBS the more economical choice and it processes readily, but it is less resistant to UV, heat and oxidative ageing than a SEBS grade. This grade carries a UV stabiliser package, but for sustained outdoor exposure a SEBS-based grade is the safer starting point. Ask us to qualify the right base for your duty cycle.
At 7.2 g/10 min (230°C/5 kg) it is a moderate-flow injection grade, better suited to thicker sections than to thin-wall or long-flow tooling. Its specific gravity of 1.060 reflects the mineral filler loading, which is what buys the dimensional stability and cost position of a filled grade.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- Structural flexible parts and snap-fit components
- Hard-wearing seals, bushings and grommets
- Profiles and trim requiring shape retention
- Automotive interior trim, NVH and sealing components
- Household goods, handles and seals
PROCESSING
- Runs on standard injection-moulding equipment; pre-drying is generally not required for unfilled grades.
- Filled formulation tuned for cost-efficiency and dimensional stability.
- Heat-stabilised: the additive package is intended to limit degradation during processing and repeated re-melting of regrind.
- UV-stabilised for components exposed to sunlight. Real service life depends on exposure, colour and section thickness, so qualify an outdoor part against its actual duty cycle.
- SBS-based: economical and easy to process, with lower UV and thermal ageing resistance than a SEBS grade.
- Colour-matchable and re-processable - production scrap can be re-melted and reused.
