
OVERVIEW
Farrprene IF701AS is a versatile medium-hardness compound for general-purpose flexible parts and two-shot overmoulding. Supplied as a natural filled grade optimised for injection-moulding, it pairs the soft-touch feel of rubber with the clean, fast processing of a thermoplastic - no curing, fully re-meltable scrap.
The grade delivers a tensile strength of 5 MPa, elongation at break of >800%, and a specific gravity of 1.070. Its high melt flow (MFI 25 g/10 min at 190°C/5 kg) fills thin-wall and complex injection geometries with short cycle times. SBS Based · Heat Stabilized.
This is an SBS-based compound. SBS keeps the unsaturated double bonds in its butadiene mid-block, which hydrogenation removes when SBS is converted to SEBS. That makes SBS the more economical choice and it processes readily, but it is less resistant to UV, heat and oxidative ageing than a SEBS grade. For sustained outdoor exposure or elevated service temperature, start from a SEBS-based grade instead. Ask us to qualify the right base for your duty cycle.
At 77 g/10 min (230°C/5 kg) it is a high-flow injection grade, suited to thin walls, long flow paths and short cycles. Its specific gravity of 1.070 reflects the mineral filler loading, which is what buys the dimensional stability and cost position of a filled grade.

PROCESSING
- Runs on standard injection-moulding equipment; pre-drying is generally not required for unfilled grades.
- Filled formulation tuned for cost-efficiency and dimensional stability.
- Heat-stabilised: the additive package is intended to limit degradation during processing and repeated re-melting of regrind.
- SBS-based: economical and easy to process, with lower UV and thermal ageing resistance than a SEBS grade.
- Colour-matchable and re-processable - production scrap can be re-melted and reused.
